Jewels, Cats & Ankle Straps

Blouse - Zara; Jeans - Topshop; Shoes - New Look; Rings - H&M (part of a set); Watch - Ever Ours

This is one of my favourite blouses EVER. I did feature it in a Weekly Want a while ago, and of course, I had to buy it! It's such a lovely silky soft material and has pretty but not in-your-face gold pyramid detailing on the shoulders. I've worn it out for dinner a few times and I think this outfit is perfect for that sort of occasion. The Joni jeans are so comfy on the waist (no need to undo your top button when you've got a bit of a food baby!). I've rolled mine up here so the ankle straps of my New Look shoes are visible. These are very similar to the Zara pair that everyone went crazy for just before Christmas, and they are a little uncomfortable if worn for long periods of time. They wouldn't be my go-to pair for a night out, but for a meal out or event where you don't have to be on your feet all night they're fab. I've just kept my jewellery quite minimal as well, a couple of gold band rings from H&M and my gorgeous cat watch from Ever Ours!

Life Recently #2

favourite look from topshop unique a/w13 show; making notes on the show; treated myself; chillin' to franky ocean; me being cool; chicken lickin'; i love my baby, yep yep i love my chick; purrfect nails; treated myself again oopssyyyy

This week's been a super jam-packed busy crazy non-stop one (yep!) and I've also been feeling rather pants, so haven't been taking any outfit photos properly, but hopefully as I'm getting better I'll be doing some this week when I can as it's going to be another busy one! We went out Friday for some fun away from dissertations and stress and I met some big yellow chickens and said goodbye to some of my medic friends who are leaving for placement (sob :(!). It was such a good night though, one to be remembered! Also tuned in to the Topshop Unique A/W '13 show today on the Topshop website which was an amazing experience. The clothes are absolutely lovely and I'm already excited for the Autumn...but I want it to be hot, so it can take it's time getting here if it likes! I also treated myself to a few bits and pieces as you can see, can't wait to wear the skirt, hope it suits me! Hope you've all had a lovely weekend :)

Blouses & Necklaces of February

1/2/3/4/5/6

If you follow my Instagram, you'll know I love my necklaces and blouses. They smarten up an outfit instantly and can be layered and worn whatever the occasion. I tend to wear blouses a lot, I just find t-shirts don't really suit me and I really only wear them in the house or on holiday but if I'm going out anywhere (even lectures!) I like to make an effort with what I wear :).

I've had my eye on the dalmatian print blouse for ages now but I couldn't find it in my local H&M so think I'll have to bite the bullet and order online, although it'll get delivered to my home rather than my uni house and I won't be able to wear it (cue breakdown and endless sobbing!) I also discovered the Oasis cat blouse yesterday, cats and polka dots...nothing better & the added bonus of a peter pan style collar which I loveee! The Zara blouse is quite basic but I like the braiding on the shoulders and the collarless style which I don't normally go for but would make a nice change!
Necklace-wise, I'm sure most people would tell me I have too many! But I couldn't resist these ones when I saw them. I love the turquoise colour of the Forever 21 necklace, I'd wear it with the Zara blouse to liven up the plain collar a bit. The animal charm necklace is sooo cute, I love the colour of the metal and the little animals dangling off but I'm a bit wary of the length, so I'd have to try it on first I think. And the Miss Selfridge cream and gold necklace is really similar in style to the Topshop one I featured in my last wishlist, but the neutral colours might make it easier to wear with more clothes :)

Sorry about the lack of outfit posts recently, I don't want people to see my face at the moment (horrible red sore nose!) so I'm avoiding them like the plague. When I'm all better which should be really soon, I'll be back on them!

Hope you liked my choices! Are there any you would buy?

Life Recently..

new dress for the science ball; ootn; birthday girl; new favourite song for working to; embellished collar; my baby kit trying on mumma's shoes; new earrings; rings i won from azure boutique; catty collar clips by jaymie

A bit flu-ey at the moment so can't do any outfit posts but here's a Instagram round up of what's been happening with me recently.
It was my 22nd birthday on Wednesday and I got spoilt a lot, so many beautiful and thoughtful pressies and so many people came out to celebrate with me which made my day, so if any of you are reading, thank you so much :). I had a bit of a splurge in town too, naughty little treat after my spending ban, but made too many impulse purchases which I'll be needing to return soon! Hate when I do that! Also was happy with my exam results which kindly came the day after my birthday (phew!). Going to be sooo busy in the coming months but I will keep my blog updated as regularly as possible, I really do miss it sometimes but I'm in my final push at uni - so scary! How can 3 years pass so fast? Feels like yesterday I was having a little sob in the car to my mum and dad before they moved me in for the first time! Hope you are all well! :)

Weekly Want No. 5

1/2/3/4/5
(clickable links)

Been so busy since I last posted, getting organised and back into my final semester ever at university (sad, scary and a little bit exciting!) but it's my 22nd birthday on Wednesday so I thought I'd pick out a few bits I've had my eye on for a while and show you what they are!

I've seen the Topshop necklace (picture from the Topshop Instagram profile) on so many people but it hasn't been available online yet, so I'm going into town this week to have a little hunt for it because it's sooo pretty. I especially like the gold detail and the fact I could wear it with so many clothes I already have! The Mango rings are actually in the sale, and down to an amazing price, I don't think I'd be able to choose which one if I was ordering though, would definitely up with both! How cute is the cat watch?! It's from an online shop called 'Ever Ours' (if you haven't checked it out before - DO!). They have so many lovely bits on there, excited for the new collection to start being available.
I wasn't 100% about the H&M shirt at first, I thought it looked a bit too cowboy-esque (after going to see Django I should be embracing the Western style!) but it's grown on me so much, and I think the sparkly studs have won me over. I'd wear it with my new Jonis (aka the dream high-waisted jeans) or a skater skirt to girlie it up a bit. And the Topshop skirt is probably my favourite thing in the world right now. Ticks the pastel trend and is exactly my cup of tea. I just want to be able to justify the price and the amount of times I will actually wear it, but I do think it's something I'd wear for many years....ergh see, still trying to justify! I'll find a way, of course ;)

Hope you like my little wish list anyway! I'm going to town on Wednesday with my mum for lunch and shopping, so no doubt I'll return home with some treats which I will either Instagram or post about on here in the near future. I'll also try and get some photos of my beautiful birthday dress which I'm so happy I managed to find :)

Service is resumed...

Skirt - Topshop; Top - H&M; Shoes - Urban Outfitters; Necklace - Cheap Frills; Bracelets - New Look, H&M and Idollina

Finally I can get back to my blogging. After a stressful start to the year, January exams are over and I can go back to lectures! I practically live in the library through exam time and I haven't been anywhere but university campus or my house of late, so I'm really looking forward to going into town this week for a change of scene, and I need to catch up on what's in the shops and things like that!

I bought this little Topshop skirt off eBay. I've been looking for a camel coloured skirt for a while to dress down with black tights or wear bare legged on a night out, and I managed to get this one for about £6 which is a bargain. I like the leather belt detail with the little bow, means I can just throw it on and not think about wearing a belt because it's already there for me (sounds a little lazy, I know, oops). The necklace I'm wearing is the Prince Puss necklace I featured in my last wishlist, I couldn't resist. Though technically I've bought it as a birthday present, I couldn't help but try it on, and it..sort of...wouldn't come undone..so it had to stay there, haha I joke, but any excuse eh ;)

So glad the snow has finally gone and I can stop wearing wellies! Wooo! These shoes are by Deena & Ozzy, I bought mine from Urban Outfitters in the summer. They're just a plain suede ballet pump with a studded gold heel, and I thought they just made a change from completely flat shoes and look a little more dressy :)

Also very excited because I'm - hopefully - buying a new camera soon. Hopefully my picture quality will be a bit better in posts in the future :) *yaaay*

Weekly Want No. 3

Haven't done a wishlist in soooo long! So here goes....

1. Zara Printed Blouse with Studs - I bought this last night after finally finding out where it was from! I saw a girl wearing it in a pic on Instagram and she made it look so classy, so I hunted it down and found it in Zara! You can't see from the picture but there are little gold studs on the shoulders :) really hoping the dipped neck isn't too low, not a fan of the boney chest look!

2. Internacionale Charcoal Texture Blazer - This looks sooo much like the River Island grey blazer that I bought but was too big for me so had to return! Really want it to come instore (yes I have already checked haha!) so I can try it on because I really need a grey blazer. I think they go with so much and I'm missing one in my wardrobe after my last one went bobbly through excessive wear! If not, I'll just order off the website as Internacionale often have free deliv! Wooooooo!

3. H&M Peter Pan Beaded Collar - This is now out of stock sadly, but I've seen quite a few kicking around on eBay. I've been looking for a nice collar for ages to wear over my jumpers but haven't found a really nice one yet. I like this one because the white would compliment most fabric shades and I'm a sucker for sparkle!

4. River Island Cream Cat Face Makeup Bag - Not letting this post go without a cat mention (missing my catties so much while I'm at uni - only 3ish weeks til I see the little rascals now!). I think I might need this makeup bag in my life, IT'S SO CUTE! I told my mum the other day, that there's no way I'm going to grow up out of my animal loving, soft toy loving, anything cute and animal related loving phase, so I'm seriously considering purchasing this little cutie! They also do a dog version, but for me it's aaaaaaaaaaall about the cats!

I've made everything I know is available online into clickable links if you're interested :)

Ps. I have also written a new blog post for Her Campus Nottingham on the best leather sleeved coats on the high street - take a look HERE.

Weekly Want No. 2

Another one of my posts where I sit and weep over the lovely things I can't afford! Here's what I love this week!

1. Miss Selfridge Baroque Jumper - I really love this baroque statement print that's around at the moment. Sometimes I think it can look a bit cheap but because this jumper is just in very neutral block colours, I think it looks a lot more expensive than it is. This is a definite snuggly uni chuck it on and go to lecture jumper!

2. Topshop Cat Slippers - I already have a pair of these in red from last winter's range but they are so worn out now, I couldn't bring myself to throw them away until I saw they're restocking in a range of different colours! My fave are the gold ones, but they also do leopard print and (I think!) black.

3. Missguided Pearl and Crystal Blouse - I have a little obsession for button up shirts at the moment, and I think this one would be perfect for a more formal occasion. I'd wear it either under a blazer with skinny jeans, or tucked into some disco pants for a night out :)

4. River Island Double Pocket Longline Vest - I really like this basic top, I just think nude goes with so much, and as we're heading into autumn winter with all the black and grey, this would lighten everything up a bit! I'm very tempted to get one to wear under a cardigan and my brown faux fur coat for when it gets chilly :)
